The first home I ever designed was my father's. I was still a student of architecture, and I remember how differently I looked at every wall, every window and every corner — because I knew the people who would live there.
That feeling has stayed with me. Over more than a decade of practice — from my years at Piloo Modi College of Architecture in Cuttack, to design studios in Kolkata and Bangalore — I learnt that good design is never only about how a space looks. It is about how it works for a family on an ordinary Tuesday morning, and how it makes them feel on the evenings that matter most.
On 9 April 2022, I started MSSV Design Studio with one simple belief: every client deserves to be listened to as carefully as I listened to my father. We don't bring a catalogue to your home. We bring questions — about your routines, your children, your parents, your festivals, the things you collect and the way you like to rest.
What began as a small team of seven is today a studio of thirty-seven designers, site engineers and project managers. We have grown, but the way we work has not changed. The same team that sketches your first layout walks your site, checks the finishes and hands over your keys.
I am proud of the homes we have delivered across Bangalore — and prouder still when a client's friends call us because they walked into that home and felt it. That trust is the measure of our work.
